Projects

The wargaming projects I work on. Some are already running, some are in a planning stage.

>>> This list is always under construction. Like everything in wargaming.<<<

1. The Way to Waterloo

A classic napoleonic setup in the style of the old wargaming 'masters' of the 60s, 70s (and 80s?). So that it looks like the pictures in old wargaming books and magazines. Mostly made with 25mm miniatures casted from Prince August moulds.

2. Tricornes & Muskets

Everything around the Seven Years War, the War of the Austrian Succession, the French-Indian Wars and all that. Self casted 40mm miniatures. Somehow my 'oldest' project, as old as the advertising picture below. And until now not finished to a point where I am satisfied.

3. Little Wars in 54

A photo from H.G.Wells Book 'Little Wars'

An Imagi-Nations setup with 54mm-Miniatures set in the Victorian age. With an focus on vintage wargaming, old school toy soldiers and maybe some steampunk elements. An anachronistic victorian narrative project. Little Wars with big minis.

4. Vagdavercustis

A small Romans vs. Germans setup based on the Germanic uprise in the year AD 69. Named after an almost unknown Germanic deity or warrior princess (nobody knows exactly). A setting with a lot of local history, one of the biggest battlegrounds of that conflict is only a few kilometers away. Based on 32mm miniatures from Prince August moulds and maybe expanded.

5. American Independence War

Another setting in the 18th century, minis made with Nürnberger-Meisterzinn moulds (50mm). The first mould I ever had was the drummer from that series. This started the hobby for me. Using these moulds for that period is a bit unusal but I already have Napoleonic and Seven Years War projects. So this is a way to utilize the moulds.

6. Imperium Germania

60mm French soldiers. With the according literature in the back.

I accidentally came in the possession of a lot of antique toy soldier moulds (40mm and 60mm) for this period. Some of them have been produced at the time when soldiers of that kind where still in service and veterans of that wars were still alive. The project will cover the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71. And maybe more.

[UPDATE] I sold most of the 60mm mould since I decided that I do not need them. I have enough 40mm moulds from Schneider and Zinnbrigade.

7. Seven vs. Spain

My plan to utilize the 'other half' of the Nürnberger-Meisterzinn moulds. Landknechts, knights and Arquebusiers in 50mm. Focusing on the period of the Eighty Years War between Spain and what we call today the 'Netherlands'. Also a lot of local color, as some of it took place here in  the area. The first depiction of a battle that excited me as a child showed an event of this war, the siege of Moers. I chose this period because I did not knew much about it.

8. The Hundred Years War

English and French knights in their epic battle for France. Using 54mm knights from Prince August moulds and other miniatures. Perhaps I will also build a (dismountable?) castle like one of the old toy castles...

9. American Civil War

My new 54mm project in 2022. Planned to be made with home casted old school toy soldiers from Prince August and Dunken moulds. Another attempt to stage Little Wars with big miniatures.
